Let's Go Canadiens?

I have got a history of sabotaging teams;
In the past my silly rhymes have ruined play-off dreams.
Thus, I hope you'll understand when I say something nice
About Montreal's Canadiens and Carey Price.

He has been on fire - stopping every puck he sees -
"Like he's on a mission," which is bad news for my Bs.
P.K. Subban (he's the guy the Bruins love to hate...
Mostly out of envy, because he's been playing great)

Scored, again, on breakaways last night on Tuukka Rask
Who, with a new baby, fell asleep behind his mask.
Series stands at 2 to 1; Game 4's on Thursday night.
If the Bruins lose that one they could still be all right

But it isn't likely.  The Canadiens are good.
Even when the games are played in Boston's neighborhood
If the Bruins cannot find the will to step it up
They are gonna miss their chance to win the Stanley Cup.

Because It's The Cup

Blackhawks tied the series up last night in overtime.
I cannot be blamed because I didn't write a rhyme.
When I write a rhyme before a Bruins game, they lose.
Then I have to suffer through my sons' and husband's "Boos!"

Game 4 was amazing; final score was 6 to 5.
Both teams at the Garden kicked it in to overdrive.
Each time that the Blackhawks scored the Bruins scored one, too.
It was nearly midnight when the hockey game was through.

Chara and Brad Marchand - he's "The Little Ball of Hate" -
Lucic, Boychuk, Peverley and Bergeron were great.
Tuukka was still very good...  He made outstanding saves
But he had some trouble stopping Seabrook, Kane, and Toews.

Game 5, in Chicago, on the Blackhawks' home town ice,
Both teams knowing that, to hoist the Cup, they must win twice.
I'd be wishing Boston luck if I were not afraid
I would jinx the Bruins before Game 5's even played.

The Boston Bruins - 2-0!

Crosby keeps looking for a fight.  Don't give it to him.  (Photo/Bleacher Report)

I confess to lack of faith and so I was surprised
When, at less than 30 seconds in, I realized
Bruins weren't just lucky when they won the other night;
They've won 2 because they're good at keeping passes tight.

They just beat the Penguins 'cause our defense has been great
And because our stars are smart enough to leave the bait.
They've ignored the constant, sneaky, "chippy", little shoves...
Won't be goaded into fights; they're keeping on their gloves.

They have won because our brilliant goalie - Tuukka Rask -
Once again, has proven that he's equal to the task.
Game 3 is tomorrow night on Boston Bruins' ice;
I have no illusions that, because we beat them twice,

Pittsburgh's Penguins can't come back to win - the Flyers did.
It is at our peril we forget the Crosby kid.
He may not be scoring now, but that ain't gonna last...
Let's pray that the Boston Bruins beat the Penguins fast.

Let's Go Rangers?

(Photo/SportsWorldReport.com)
Made myself a promise but it's one I couldn't keep -
Not with Boston in New York and trying for the sweep.
Yes, I'm superstitious and I'm not the only one.
Vowed I wouldn't rhyme about the Bruins 'til they'd won.

When I rhyme about a team, it seems to me,  they lose
But, with Dr. Seussilitis, I don't get to choose...
(Fevered brain compels my hand to vomit on the page.
Maybe a dementia I'm acquiring with age.)

So I hope that Boston Bruins' fans will understand
If I give the New York Rangers team a rousing hand.
'cause, just like their manager who said his player stinks,
Anything I have to say is, probably, a jinx.

Can't ask more of Lundqvist, 'though you could ask more from Nash.
Would ask that, this time, they not give Chara's face a slash.
Let's go Rangers!  even though my wish is insincere;
There's a little part of me that wants to beat you here.

(Let's go Bruins!)

Later...

How did this attempt to jinx the Rangers work? Don't ask.
This time, though, it's not my fault. I'm blaming Tuukka Rask.

Let's Go Leafs?

I've been feeling hesitant to write a Bruins rhyme;
Maybe I should rhyme about the Maple Leafs instead?
Anything to help the Boston Bruins get ahead.

Something has to change because the Bruins cannot score;
Haven't had the kind of luck they used to have before.
We cannot blame Krejci; he's done all that we could ask.
Not the fault of our amazing goalie; Tuukka Rask.

True, Toronto's goalie, Jimmy Reimer, has been great.
Their defensive players are aggressive when they skate.
Maple Leafs are quick and show precision when they pass.
(Phew!  I hope that is enough 'cause I've run out of gas.)

Bruins spent the night up there; they had a broken plane.
Bet they didn't get much sleep. Toronto went insane.
Now they face Game 7, but they'll be on hometown ice.
I'd say that I hope they win, but now I'm thinking twice.

(Let's Go Bruins!)

Later...  Oh! My! God!...  It worked.  Let's Go Rangers!

Pity the Boston Sports Fan

https://encrypted-tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQWu8bEsEkfjtT10Is3H85niYygeW2zHI4SzzYOVS2Z034tfwVvwA

Boston sports fans haven't had a lot of things to cheer;
Just a week and all our hopes for glory disappear.
We are plagued with injuries and not a lot of wins...

Yesterday the Celtics' fans grew worried; 'though we won.
Rondo tore his ACL - which means his season's done.
That's a major problem.  Rajon Rondo has been key
Now that it's the Heat that cheers at "Ray Allen for threeee!"

I still cannot talk about the Patriots' collapse.
It left me depressed and I'm afraid I may relapse.
21 unanswered points? Just what the heck was that?
Since when is our Offense so spectacularly flat?

Good news is that now I can enjoy the Super Bowl.
If your team is in it, watching football takes its toll.
Patriots are out of it; they've packed away their pads.
I don't care who wins the game; I'll watch it for the ads.

Pity the poor Bruins though, with such a daunting task;
All the hopes of Boston fans on them and  Tuukka Rask.
Celtics are in trouble now that Rajon Rondo's out.
Boston fans need some sports team that we can brag about.
