Congressional Update - A Rhyme

Update on the Congress (for the few of us who care...
Those with any interest in what goes on up there)
Congress reached a compromise and passed a Farming Bill,
Raised the ceiling on the debt - that's if the Senate will.

That seems pretty likely so, at least, they'll get that done.
It might be the last thing, though... They've got campaigns to run.
Boehner wouldn't give an Immigration Bill a chance.
GOP's afraid their base would look at them askance.

In mid-term elections would be handing them their coat
If they gave the President and Democrats a "win,"
Once again, our immigrants will take one on the chin.

It is so short-sighted when we cater to extremes,
Seemingly forgetting that we're not on different teams.
We're "one nation - indivisible..." At least, we were.
Well...  Except for Bachmann; I am disavowing her.

Unsolicited Advice for Scott Brown - Don't Do It

(Photo/BusinessInsider.com)
Doesn't seem to know that, as a Massachusetts' son,
National Republicans will always think that he
Is a closet liberal who doesn't drink the Tea.

Cruz and Paul and Bachmann are the kind of folks they'll choose.
I think I would reconsider were I in his shoes.
Brown should stick to Governor; at least he has a shot...
GOP's new nominee - post Romney? He does not.

The Tea Party Darlings

Minnesota Congresswoman Bachmann won't be seeking
Re-election.  Sadly, though, she will continue speaking.
I think she and Sarah Palin ought to form a team;
Hit the road together as they spout Tea Party steam.

They both ran for higher office (neither had much luck);
Both of them are more concerned with how to make a buck.
Luckily, they're pretty women - both of them are loud.
They should not have any trouble drawing in a crowd.

They have ammunition now, thanks to the I.R.S.,
I'm sure that they'll both do fine (if they stay on their pills)
Plus, I think Michele will need some cash for legal bills.

Race for the White House - 2012 (cont.)

Gingrich or Santorum? I just can't see them at all.
Don't think either stands a chance to win this in the Fall.
Newt has so much baggage he requires a valet.
And, I've heard Santorum is completely anti-gay.

I've begun to worry that Republicans are nuts.
Every time I turn around they choose some other putz.
Palin, Cain, and Perry? Michele Bachmann? Donald Trump?
They've all held a lead until their campaigns hit a bump.

Never know who they'll pick next but I begin to think
If you're a Republican then all your options stink.
Maybe they should give the President another glance?
I think they might like him if they'd give him half a chance.
