Last night in New England - in the bitter, freezing cold -
Weather Peyton Manning doesn't like (or so we're told)
Patriots kept fumbling to Denver, who would score.
By the half, the Broncos were ahead by 24.
We will never know what Belichick said to his team;
Whether he was calm or he began to swear and scream,
But he ought'a bottle it and put it up for sale
'cause the Patriots came back and, in a howling gale
Sent the game to overtime by scoring 31...
Then went on to kick a field goal at the end and won.
What I couldn't comprehend was people booing Wes;
Not his fault the Patriots were offering him less.
He should've been welcomed back by everyone in town.
Former team-mates didn't boo but, mostly, shut him down.
How we ever pulled it out last night I'll never know,
But I hope, post-season, that we play them in the snow.
