Shakespeare Revisited

"Something's rotten in the State of Denmark," Shakespeare said...
Then, in just a few short acts, the whole damn cast is dead.
As our current tragedy unfolds - the play undone -
I'm afraid our State will end up like that other one.

Men and women merely players; all the world a stage.
Our mad king's soliloquies are on his Twitter page.
Something isn't only rotten here...  It stinks like hell.
Alas for our democracy.  I thought I knew it well.

Methinks I doth smell a rat.  Its name is Donald Trump;
An Othello with the intellect of Forrest Gump.
In this comic tragedy we're in, perhaps it's best
If a flight of federal agents sing him to his rest.

Google Won't Forget This

googlehistory-2014071104305612.jpg

People throughout history have tried to leave their mark,
Hoping we'll name streets for them, or schools...  Perhaps a park.
Something that survives us after we are in our grave,
Yet we all  have made some marks that we don't want to save.

It might be a drunken photo or a careless tweet;
Information you don't want to share with folks you meet.
Something you don't talk about with people from your church...
Things that they can learn about you with a Google Search.

In the state of Denmark though, if you did something rotten,
European Union passed the Right to be Forgotten.
You can have those links removed - you only have to ask.
Google says complying is a monumental task.

If you're an American you do not have this right
So, if you're debating if it is or isn't bright
To do something that you'll later wish you could forget,
Just remember - what you do stays on the internet.

Across the Pond - Oops!

Penti Arajarvi, the First Gentleman of Finland
Stared so long at Princess Mary's bosom looked like he planned
To devour with his eyes what wasn't on his plate;
Leaving his poor wife a most embarrassed Head of State.

When she noticed Penti, Denmark's Princess wasn't thrilled
Seemed to me the atmosphere between them quickly chilled.
Once she caught him at it, Penti swiftly looked away.
Wonder what his hostess, Denmark's Queen, will have to say?

Isn't it ironic that the "Gentleman" was caught?
In my eyes, that lengthy stare means; gentleman he's not.
Look at him! Good heavens! He does everything but drools.
Bet he tells his wife that he was looking at her jewels.
