Big Brother Is A Piker

Image result for no privacy on the web

N.S.A. insists the mega data they collect
Keeps the country safe, with built-in safeguards they respect.
Claim that it's a necessary evil which protects
All of us by only tracking terrorist suspects.

'though it's creepy knowing that Big Brother's watching you
We tend to ignore the fact that others do it, too.
N.S.A. gets numbers and the minutes people use;
Google's now predicting the next purchase that you'll choose.

Government believes the criticism isn't fair;
Say the innocent won't even notice that they're there.
I think they're surprised to find that anybody cares...
At least N.S.A., unlike your Facebook, never shares.

Google Won't Forget This

googlehistory-2014071104305612.jpg

People throughout history have tried to leave their mark,
Hoping we'll name streets for them, or schools...  Perhaps a park.
Something that survives us after we are in our grave,
Yet we all  have made some marks that we don't want to save.

It might be a drunken photo or a careless tweet;
Information you don't want to share with folks you meet.
Something you don't talk about with people from your church...
Things that they can learn about you with a Google Search.

In the state of Denmark though, if you did something rotten,
European Union passed the Right to be Forgotten.
You can have those links removed - you only have to ask.
Google says complying is a monumental task.

If you're an American you do not have this right
So, if you're debating if it is or isn't bright
To do something that you'll later wish you could forget,
Just remember - what you do stays on the internet.

With Sincerest Apologies to the NSA

John Darkow - Columbia Daily Tribune, Missouri - Google-Snoop - English - Google, snoop, Wi-fi, wiretapping, Chris Koster, Missouri AG, privacy

When you check the internet it's also checking you.
Amazon believes they can predict what you will do.
They know what you're thinking long before you've had the thought
So they're shipping items that you haven't even bought.

OnStar knows where you have been; predicts where you might go.
Facebook sends your status out to everyone you know.
On a daily basis, credit information's hacked;
Every single movement on the internet gets tracked.

There is almost nothing that a Google search can't find.
We give so much information out it blows my mind.
People at the NSA must look at this in awe,
Knowing - if they tried it - it would be against the law.

Dr. Seussilitis - Blogger and Ad(Non)Sense

Sometimes I am just amazed by ads that Blogger shows.
If they'd ever read my rhymes they'd know that I oppose
More than half the candidates or issues that they pick...
Ads are on my blog that I would never choose to click.

Like if you hate Roe v. Wade. Click here to send us cash.
Help us to continue buying ads and talking trash.
Click if you like Romney...  Over here if you like Brown;
Here if you would like to run Obama out of town.

I support Obama.  I'm a fan of Roe v. Wade.
Think that Google's AdSense screening gets a failing grade.
Maybe I should drop the ads because my mother's sworn
My blog had a link that - with one click - took her to porn.

Race for the White House - Santorum Suspends Search

excerpted from an
Article first published as Rick Santorum Drops Out on Technorati.

Even though Newt Gingrich still persists in hanging on
Romney's closest competition, as of now, is gone.
Rick Santorum called it quits; suspended his campaign.
GOP has hopes his loss will mean Mitt Romney's gain.

Pundits say he left the race because he wouldn't win
Pennsylvania.  Maybe so; still, I think he got in
Not to be the President but, foremost in his mind?
Making sure he'd change the things a Google search would find.

Now a frothy mix of news about his sweater vest
Has surpassed what once was there; a Savage, gay man's jest.
I think Rick Santorum did exactly what he planned.
Having read that entry, I completely understand.
