You might think Republicans - opposed to Hillary -

Should take time to think who their alternative could be.

Hillary conspiracies, the kind that FOX News panders,

Have resulted in a surge for Vermont's Bernie Sanders.

Do they really want a guy who claims he's Socialist

Or a seasoned politician who's a realist?

(FYI: Real Socialists say Bernie isn't one...

That he's more conservative than David Cameron.)

Shouldn't they be worried Mrs. Clinton's in a slump

While their leading candidate's an idiot like Trump?

He is unelectable. Because of him, they'll lose.

I'd think Hillary's the lesser evil they would choose.

How Do You Say "Dittohead" In Russian?

Rumors on the internet (like FOX News, only worse)

Trolls who claim our President is trying to reverse

The protections that our Constitution guarantees.

Faking news supporting tales of vast conspiracies.

Claiming that Ebola's spreading through Atlanta's streets,

False reports of shootings were a "Leading Trend" in Tweets.

Some trolls work the chat rooms; I've encountered one or two...

They're the guys you find on-line espousing Putin's view.

Now we find that some trolls aren't your ordinary jerk;

Lying on the internet is what they do for work.

They are on the payroll of a Russian agency;

Putin should thank Limbaugh's fans...  They do the job for free.

Willful Ignorance?

I think NPR should be required listening;

Before you're allowed to give opinions on something

You would have to prove you didn't get your news from FOX

(Where the "idiot" is hyphenated to the "box.")

Cannot quote the rumors of conspiracies they spread;

You can't cite as "truth" something that Bill O'Reilly's said.

How, when recent studies proved that viewers of FOX News

Get facts wrong, is it the channel anyone would choose?

Still, it's got the highest ratings - revenues are great.

There's a lot of profit to be made in spreading hate.

But, if you prefer real news, tune in to NPR.

It should be the only channel we hear in the car.

FOX Trolls and Foreign Policy

 

FOX News brand conservatives have all been up in arms;

Angry at Obama - claiming his discretion harms

Our war on extremists who use violence as their tools.

They insist he use the word "Islamic" but they're fools.

Make this a religious fight and world consensus fades.

Countries in the region, who remember the Crusades,

Want to join a war on terror - not one on Islam.

Why would he offend our strongest ally - the imam?

Most imams say terrorists are  un-Islamic thugs

Murdering in Allah's name... Not worthy of the rugs

Where they kneel for daily prayers or else they would have heard

With their gruesome actions they're perverting Allah's word.

We're all hunting brutal killers, call them what you will.

President Obama's showing diplomatic skill

Using nuanced language to achieve a common goal.

I guess that's too subtle for your average FOX News troll.

Dear Mr. Cheney et al. - You're Kidding, Right?

Didn't make this process one the U.S.A. could stop...

But, to say Obama caused the current Mid-East mess,

Means you're badly misinformed (by FOX, would be my guess.)

President Obama's seen approval ratings drop

Because there are conflicts in the world he cannot stop.

John McCain can name you three the U.S. should invade;

Plus another couple where he thinks we should have stayed.

I don't think he understands how that would be perceived.

When we throw our weight around the Arabs feel aggrieved.

Libyans are mad we grabbed a suspect off the street,

Hustled him aboard a ship, and sailed off with our fleet.

"Well...  It took us long enough," said everyone on FOX

These wars are religious...  They're the kind that can't be won

And we shouldn't risk the life of one more mother's son

In a fight that's lasted for at least a thousand years.

When we've jumped into the fray before it led to tears.

Once we put our foot down innocents are always crushed.

Thankfully, this President won't let himself be rushed.

A Public Lynching

It appears the country wants to lynch the Bergdahl's boy

I'm convinced it's something that Rush Limbaugh would enjoy.

He is a "deserter and a traitor," FOX News said.

(Taliban has told the kid if he returns, he's dead.)

He has been convicted by a jury of the press

And this "feel-good" story has become an ugly mess.

After his hometown of Hailey came under attack

They've now cancelled plans to welcome SGT Bergdahl back.

As if that weren't bad enough, the press attacked his dad.

I can't listen to them anymore...  It drives me mad.

Leaves his parents out of this.  The only thing they've done

Is to do their very best to try and save their son.

We Leave No One Behind

White House made a deal for getting Bowe Bergdahl released

But the howls about the swap they made have just increased.

Started with the 5 we traded; all were Taliban

And we never warned the people in Afghanistan.

Didn't tell the Congress, either...  Simply went ahead.

'We don't leave our men behind,' Barack Obama said.

Now the claim is: we did not leave Bergdahl, he left us,

That he's a deserter who is not worth all the fuss.

No-one's come right out and said we should have left the kid,

But they're criticizing everything the White House did.

There are snide remarks on FOX about Bowe's father's beard;

Speculation that the Bergdahl clan is kinda weird.

Speaking as the mother of two handsome, teenage boys

All this hue and cry is only pointless, background noise

(Speaking as a veteran, the same is also true)

I'd expect my country would do all that it could do.

Russian FOX News

In a propaganda war it's hard to know what's true.

Both sides may be lying...  We know Putin's told a few.

Russian news claims Nazi sympathizers rule Ukraine,

Backed by U.S. Special Forces.  Clearly, that's insane.

Russians must believe it though 'cause many of them call

For new annexations in Ukraine...  Don't want it all.

Just the eastern bits (the part with mines and rich farmland)

And, if we don't like it, we are welcome to pound sand.

Russians seem to think their country's only lending aid,

Unaware that protestors on city streets got paid.

It's as if they're trying to form rational world views

When their only source of information's like FOX News.

FOX - The Spin Zone

President Obama gave an interview to FOX;

Spoke with Bill O'Reilly (who's as subtle as an ox)

Or, at least, he tried to...  When O'Reilly let him speak;

Tried to treat the President like guests he has each week.

Bill demanded heads should roll: Sebelius and Rice - 

Health Care and Benghazi - interrupted more than twice

When Obama tried to answer accusations made...

Couldn't call them questions - that's not how this game is played.

People who tune in to FOX believe they're getting news,

Never realizing it's just Roger Ailes's views.

If the facts do not support the things that Roger feels

FOX invents conspiracies; it's how they earn their meals.

President Obama is their favorite boogeyman.

They've convinced their audience he's got a secret plan;

He's a closet Communist or Muslim - take your pick.

So, they keep on slinging mud in hopes something will stick.

When he'd finally had enough, Obama looked at Bill;

Said he knew they don't agree on things and never will.

Pointed out that, since FOX keeps ignoring all the facts,

He is not surprised at how their audience reacts.

G.O.P. wants something from their Shutdown, don't know what;

To defund Obama Care, another budget cut?

One thing that they're sure they want? A little more respect.

They're not getting any lately...  What did they expect?

They could always tune to Bullshit Mountain for some praise.

When you hear them tell it, "slimming down" is for the good.

You won't feel the impact in your all-white neighborhood.

They do not support calls for the Tea Party to halt

Shutting down the government (which is Obama's fault.)

Something's in the water there; it's making them insane.

Maybe that's the reason why their programs are inane.

Look at Bill O'Reilly and what happened to Glenn Beck...

By the time he left the place the poor guy was a wreck.

They've become so toxic - spreading anger, fear, and doubt -

It's a shame the E.P.A. is closed and can't help out.

There is almost nothing about guns where we agree.

Plus, their A-List speakers like Santorum, LaPierre,

Sarah Palin (Heck, they even stuck Glenn Beck up there...

I thought he'd been relegated to the loony fringe.)

They make me so angry I can feel my eyebrows singe.

I cannot accept that they believe the things they say;

Really think Obama plans to take their guns away.

That would mean they're stupid - or they're crazy...  Take your pick.

I think it's more cynical than that and rather slick.

When they are successful and make citizens afraid

More of us go purchase guns and that's how they get paid.

FOX & Friends: Unbalanced & Unfair

 Saw a show called FOX & Friends; but friendly they were not.

Watched in disbelief as each host took their cheapest shot.

Back when Mrs. Clinton had a fall and hit her head,

"She is only faking it," the friends on FOX all said.

They spend time with angry people - put them on the air;

Some of them unbalanced; the majority, unfair.

They create a controversy and then call it news.

FOX is just a forum for extremist, right-wing views.

In a recent study it was found that people who

Get their news from FOX don't have a grasp on what is true.

They know less than people who don't follow news at all.

I think that it's time to give the F.C.C. a call.

The 112th Congress - Because They've Got Nothing Better To Do

What, exactly, is it that Republicans oppose?

Nomination that Obama has yet to propose?

Susan Rice read talking points.  It turns out they were wrong.

Now the rumors of conspiracy are going strong.

FOX News is all over it; they say Rice told a lie.

Went and spun the facts so they'd look better for her guy.

Claim she knew al Qaeda was behind the whole attack;

That her motivation was to have Obama's back.

Never mind the fact the CIA said it was them,

And forget the other Rice (the one who's not a Dem.)

This Rice had no luck at all when she went to The Hill,

Now the voice of opposition's started growing shrill.

John McCain and Lindsey Graham are sure it's all a trick;

And it looks like others may have joined their little clique.

I guess, with elections over, there's air-time to fill.

Crazy controversies give the FOX and Friends a thrill.

Dear President Obama; Sincere Condolences on Your Victory

Listened to Obama's speech before I went to bed.

One more time unto the breach, as William Shakespeare said.

4 more years to get it right and fix whatever's wrong...

4 more years to try and drag Republicans along.

Watched returns on PBS and, now and then, on FOX -

Just to see what message they'd take from the ballot box.

Country's still divided and, 'though Democrats have won,

I'm afraid the next 4 years aren't gonna be much fun.

FOX believes that Romney lost the race because he's rich,

And that he was moderate before he made the switch...

Wasn't quite conservative enough to fit the bill.

4 more years of crap like that is gonna make me ill.

I can only hope for change in Congress - that they'll see

Time to work together...  Country needs the GOP.

Loyal opposition as we hurtle towards the cliff;

Not like folks on FOX and Friends.  Those people scare me stiff.

With friends like these...?

Romney has supporters that no politician wants;

Shameless, self-promoters "Tweeting" nasty , racist's taunts,

Men who say that pregnancies resulting from assualt -

(If the rape's "legitimate")  the baby is  God's fault.

Guys who say they'll never get a vote from someone smart.

All the lunatics at FOX who've also played their part

Making independent voters stop and question; "Why

Is it that so many crazy people like this guy?"

If we're known to others by the company we keep;

Judging by those kinds of friends - Mitt Romney is a creep.

I'm not buying what he's selling, even were it free.

Anyone Rush Limbaugh hates deserves a vote from me.

Across the Pond - FOX News and the Benghazi Conspiracy

At the next - and last - debate (my anniversary),

I would bet the candidates revisit Benghazi.

I'm not sure, exactly, what the fuss is all about;

Killers of Ambassadors are terrorists.  No doubt.

Who's behind the terrorism doesn't change the fact

President did say it was a terroristic act.

In chaotic aftermaths, in countries far away,

Sorting out the details takes you more than just 1 day.

Just like Mr. Romney's statements (his came out by noon),

President Obama may have spoken up too soon.

(You won't hear FOX mention the success of that attack

Means that there's less money for employing extra guards.)

One thing I am certain of - the President was clear -

We will find the terrorists who did it, never fear.

Spare me the conspiracies; I'll let the crazies rant.

FOX should interview bin Laden...  Oh, that's right.  They can't.

'though I wish he'd met with some, I guess I see his point.

What could he accomplish; have we not already said

Syria's a travesty?  Too many people dead.

Why sit down with Netanyahu (who he doesn't like)

When he won't agree with him on a preemptive strike?

Why have talks with Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood?

Right now, our relations with Egyptians are not good.

Only thing you get from meetings?  Headlines FOX can use;

Something they can spin about, in keeping with their views...

Which folks did he meet with?  Why did someone get the snub?

Who is in and who is out of that exclusive club?

At the risk of running long, I also have to say

I don't think world leaders would expect it anyway...

Not in this election year - not if they read the news.

I would also choose The View if in Obama's shoes.

Across the Pond - Or, According to FOX News; Race for the White House

Best way I can tell I'm wrong? When FOX News thinks I'm right.

That's the situation I was in on Thursday night.

What with all the protests spreading through the Middle East

I thought I should give the folks on FOX a chance, at least.

Then I watched Sean Hannity...  They really call that news?

Interviewing Palin for her "expert" Mid-East views?

She cannot see Egypt when she's standing in her yard.

Tried to find the logic in her arguments...  Too hard.

FOX News blames Obama; 'though, for what?  I can't be sure.

Something about doing some apologizing tour.

Then they played a clip montage and still I never heard

President Obama use the dreaded "sorry" word.

FOX seems more concerned about how Romney is perceived;

Playing petty politics while all the nation grieved

At the tragic loss of life; 4 people lying dead.

Spare me the excuses for the stupid things Mitt said.

Yes, I am still angry at the news from overseas

But, to take the word of those on FOX about it?  Please.

Think I'll stick to NPR with experts I can trust.

Even FOX reporters said he'd reached a stunning low.

If he isn't careful then his nose might start to grow.

GOP's as much as said that facts get in the way.

Don't support the narrative they're trying to portray.

If they told the truth, they think, we wouldn't like their guy.

Therefore, they've decided that it's easier to lie.

I don't have an iPad - yet - but heard that there's an app;

It's supposed to help the voters wade through all the crap.

With the way this race is going lately, seems to me,

Democratic party should provide iPads for free.
